Itinerary

February 1st-February 6th 2021

Tuesday February 1st

Upon arrival in Belize, you will be transported to the Bocawina Rainforest Resort. It is a 2.5 hour drive down the Hummingbird Highway. This is widely considered the most scenic and beautiful drives on the planet and is a perfect introduction to what the rest of our trip has in store. Once we arrive at the resort, tucked deep in the rainforest we will enjoy a delicious dinner before heading out for a short night walk in search of nocturnal wildlife.

Thursday February 3rd

Day 3 begins with a short hike to Bocawina Falls after an early breakfast. Bring your cameras for this one, as it is the most picturesque waterfall and one of my favorite places to sit and relax. There are various options to take a refreshing dip, as well as the opportunity to hike further to another waterfall deeper in the jungle. We return to the resort for lunch. After lunch we will experience the rainforest from the perspective of the birds with a thrilling zip-line adventure! After dinner another night hike is optional.

Wednesday February 2nd

We jump strait into things on our first full day, starting out early on a hike to Antelope Falls. Antelope Falls is the tallest waterfall in Belize at over 1000 feet. After admiring the view from the bottom we will climb to the top of the falls where we are rewarded with one of the most breathtaking views you will ever see, as well as a smaller waterfall with a perfect swimming hole to cool off in. If we are lucky we may encounter a troop of Howler Monkeys, a number of snakes, or any other rainforest creatures along the way. After a relaxing afternoon (or optional adventure) and dinner, we will go on another night hike in search for more slithering nocturnal wildlife.

Friday February 4th

Day 4 provides a number of options! After an optional 3am Sunrise hike (totally worth it!) Included is transportation to the city of Placencia where we will spend the day exploring the town laying on the beach, dipping our toes in the ocean, shopping and having lunch at one of the numerous beachfront restaurants. If that doesn’t sound your speed, optional trips can be booked through the resort to go cave tubing, rappelling, snorkeling and more! We will all meet (or travel together) back to the resort for dinner and more exploring of the jungle at night in search of more reptiles!

Saturday February 5th

Our last full day has us traveling south to the Cockscomb Basin Jaguar Preserve. This is the worlds ONLY Jaguar preserve and boasts the densest population of Jaguars on the planet. (I came face to face with a Jaguar here myself in January 2021). We will arrive early in the morning and start our day with a hike to Tiger Fern Falls, a breathtaking double waterfall. This hike provides a panoramic view of the entire preserve with Victoria Peak in the distance, as well as one of the best opportunities for swimming at the base of a jungle waterfall. After we return to the visitor center we pick up some inner tubes and float down the river through the heart of the jungle. A relaxing and beautiful way to end our time in this amazing preserve.

Saturday August 14th

We say goodbye to paradise this morning, leaving the resort and heading back to Belize City for our flights home.
